VITA: Born May 27, 1951: musician, composer/arranger, big band leader. Studied music education in Heidelberg majoring in composition, flute and musicology.
Senior teacher (ret.) of music at the Technisches Gymnasium Emmendingen.
1985–1991 Artistic director of the Jazz & Rockschule Freiburg.
Founder (1991) and director of the private school for rock, pop and jazz, musiclab, in Emmendingen.
1999–2002 Establishment and management of the musiclab Lörrach.
Lecturer at the University of Music Freiburg for nine semesters, guest lecturer at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart (jazz department), teacher at international workshops of the Akademie Remscheid and the Bundesakademie Trossingen.
Lecturer for advanced teacher training for jazz and rock, composing with pupils, acting and music, and rhythm training ("Hit me with the rhythm stick", "The germ cell concept").
Lecturer at state and federal conventions of the Arbeitskreis für Schulmusik (Working Group for Music in Schools) and the Verband Deutscher Schulmusiker (German Federation of School Musicians).
Lecturer at the international convention for jazz education of the IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators), 1994, in Boston, USA.
Member and teacher of the international association "American Voices".
Performances and Workshops for improvisation, saxophone and big band, and foundation of the Baku Big Band in Azerbaijan, lecturer at the "National Unity Performing & Visual Arts Academy", 2007, in Erbil (Iraq).
Workshops in the US (Creative Music Studio, Woodstock; IAJE New Orleans, Miami, Boston etc.), Denmark, Spain, Poland, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Taiwan and Iraq.
Since 2011, guest lecturer at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg (Master Programme Popular Music Education MA).

"Finale Sinfonie" (with ca. 250 participants),
"Carmina Burana" with big band and percussion ensemble,
"Rhythm of Genesis" (church concert for choir, percussion ensemble and organ), "Junger wilder Süden" (rock musical),
"Der Schrei" with the South-west German Radio Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden and Freiburg and conductor Sylvain Cambreling (TV production, book with DVD published by Schott Verlag).
Contributor to the music instruction manual Rondo 7/8: "Rock music in schools", "African music" and Rondo 9/10 ("Blues"). Contributor to the songbook Das Liederbuch published by Klett Verlag Leipzig in 2005.
